Nabu ("the App") is developed by JT ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the Nabu application available on macOS.

Nabu is designed with a strict "zero data collection" philosophy. We do not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal information or usage data.

2. Information We Collect

None.

Nabu does not collect any information from you or your device, including but not limited to:

• Personal identification information
• Usage statistics or analytics
• Crash reports or diagnostics
• Device identifiers
• Documents you create, edit, or export
• File paths or filenames
• Export settings or preferences
• Browsing or file access history

3. Data Storage

All data created within Nabu (documents, settings, recent files) is stored locally on your device only. This data is managed by macOS within the app's sandboxed container and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

4. Document Processing

Markdown Rendering

All Markdown parsing and rendering happens entirely on your device using Apple's swift-markdown library. No document content is ever sent to external servers.

PDF & DOCX Export

Document export (PDF and DOCX) is performed locally using native macOS WebKit and Swift. Your documents are never uploaded, processed remotely, or transmitted anywhere.

HTML Preview

HTML files are rendered locally in WKWebView. The preview runs in a sandboxed environment on your device.

5. Third-Party Services

Nabu does not use any third-party services. There are no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no external APIs, and no telemetry endpoints.

6. App Store & Apple

Nabu is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple may collect certain information as described in their privacy policy. This is independent of Nabu and governed by Apple's terms. Nabu itself does not receive any data from Apple about your usage.

7. App Sandbox

Nabu operates within Apple's App Sandbox, the strictest security and privacy standard for macOS applications. This means:

• The app can only access files you explicitly grant permission to
• Network access is limited to what WKWebView requires internally
• The app cannot access other applications' data
• All app data is isolated in a secure container

File Access

When you open or save documents, Nabu uses the standard macOS file picker. The app can only access files you explicitly select. For documents with local images, Nabu may request folder access using secure security-scoped bookmarks, which you can revoke at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

Nabu does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data, there are no special provisions needed for children's privacy.

9. Data Security

Since we collect no data, there is no data to secure on our end. Your local data is protected by macOS security features and the App Sandbox.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Our commitment to collecting zero data will not change.

11. Your Rights

Under various privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you have rights regarding your personal data. Since Nabu collects no personal data, these rights are automatically satisfied:

• Right to Access: There is no data to access
• Right to Deletion: There is no data to delete
• Right to Portability: Your local documents are already yours
• Right to Opt-Out: There is no tracking to opt out of
